出国留学申请不是想就可以的，一定要满足条件才行，出国留学需要什么条件?以美国为例，我们主要分为一下四点讨论：

第一，要想申请美国本科，高中毕业证书是必不可少的。美国大学不会接受一名连高中都未毕业的学生，除非是极其特殊的情况。高中毕业证书必须有英文对照翻译，并有国家公证处的公证章印才会有效。

第二，经济担保是很重要的一条。经济担保的目的是为了向美国大学及政府证明，此学生有足够的经济来源供在美国留学。经济担保只须证明有足够的支付大学第一年的费用即可，而不是整个大学四年。经济担保的方式有多种，最普遍的如银行存款证明及奖学金助学金等等。

不少人忽略了工资收入证明和房产证明，其实它们也是很重要的经济担保。尽管证明的工资收入也许不是很大数额，但对美方的印象却是你有固定收入，而不是从事今天赚一千明天赔一万的那种风险性大的职业。尽管不少学生的家长是生意人，可是他们还是有一定的固定收入的。

房产证明主要是向美方表明，我的家是在中国而不是美国。而且，学生的父母已经有能力购房了，那么为什么不能送孩子出国读书呢?在办理存款证明时，要注意一点，那就是美方一般要求的是申请人之前六个月的账户历史。他们这样做是为了避免那些没有经济能力的人，在申请前靠借钱充数。

第三，一篇精彩而又真实的自荐信是至关重要的。美国很多高等学府都要求申请者写自荐信，如果你和另一位申请者的条件一样，但是你多写了一封自荐信，那么校方自然了解你更多一点。也许就是因为多那么一点努力，校方十有八、九会选你而不是其他人。自荐信一般为300个英文单词左右。自荐信如果太长了，别人读起来觉得很麻烦;太短了，又不能起到让学校了解你的作用。

自荐信一般分三段。第一段介绍学生本人的情况。如兴趣爱好、体育水平、艺术上的造诣等学习成绩以外的别人可能不具备的东西。学习成绩可以用两三句话写完那是最好的，因为校方还可以从学生的成绩单上慢慢审察。第二段，向校方阐明自己申报该校的原因和目的。因为校方想知道该学生为什么选择这所学校，从而判定这所学校是否适合该学生，校方也想向学生负责。

如果一名学生在报考佛罗里达大学的自荐信中，所提到的报考主要原因是为了享受佛州的沙滩和阳光的话，那么校方也许会认为在沙滩边上的迈亚密大学会更适合该学生。第三段，学生应向校方重申和加重其希望在该校学习的愿望，并留下最直接最简单的联繁方式。很多名牌大学每年都有一到两万名学生报名申请，他们可没有那么多时间慢慢找一个学生的联系方式，所以，以防万一同时也为方便校方，学生可以在多处留下自己的联系方式。

第四样文件是推荐信。研究生报考美国大学，推荐信是必须的，而本科生则是要看各学校的不同要求。与写自荐信道理一样，如一名申请者有老师或工作单位推荐，自然比那些没有推荐的申请者更引人注意一些。

全面深刻地审视自己、寻找独特的角度以及注重运用细节是必须注意的问题。下面还有一些材料的取舍问题提出来供读者参考。
首先，千万不要遗漏掉那些有用的和中肯的成就、经验等事实。
申请研读的学位越高，以往的科研、学术成果和工作经验等等就越是重要。许多申请者错误地认为自己发表的文章已经列在简历里面了，在自荐信中就不应该再提。其实，个人简历是一份完全不同的文件。它是对个人经历的一种简洁而全面的介绍，使得读者对申请者能够很快有一个大致的了解。自荐信则是需要(或是希望)读者仔细阅读的，它要介绍申请者的成就、抱负和个人品德。所以申请者不用担心内容上的重复。还有许多申请者硬是要把自荐信的篇幅压缩在一页纸内，因而只能很简要地提到自己的成就。其实，如果内容充实，为什么不能写到二至三页呢?比如说到发表的论文，往往只提到一个题目。其实，写一篇科研论文往往是要付出巨大心血的。这不光是写篇文章，而是反复的科学论证和无数次实验的结晶。申请者起码应该用二至三个句子，说明这篇论文所代表的实验、实验用的`方法、目的和获得的成绩。还应该说明通过发表这篇(或这几篇)论文，申请者在这一领域做出了什么贡献，获得了哪些思想方法、认识和科研手段上的提高。
还有的申请者犯的是一个相反的错误，他们把高中甚至更早的成就也不厌其烦地列在自荐信上。比如当上了三好学生、少先队长之类的。因为中国学生申请的学位最低的也是硕士研究生，大学时期的成绩或是随后工作上的成就更为贴切，也应该足以用作素材了。当然，少儿时期的成就，若是对随后的学术道路产生了重大的影响的，也可以提。有的申请者对某一学科，比如说数学，情有独钟，很早就显露出天才，在中学时期就在数学竞赛中获奖，由此激发了对此学科的强烈兴趣，从此矢志不渝。这样提就非常妥当。
最好不提的还有政治观点、宗教信仰和其它一切容易引起争议的不同寻常的话题。有个别申请者在文件中提到了“上帝”这样的字眼，犯了西方社会宗教和学术分离的大忌。
最后一点提醒读者注意的是，对自己的事业和生活道路上的挫折没有必要讳莫如深。许多杰出的人物都曾经历过困顿。人们一般会欣赏那些不被困难压倒，不因失败沮丧，在逆境中寻找光明的人。关键在于你是否用积极正面的态度对待挫折并表现出这种积极的态度。
